Toofus by Bill Graham

A root canal visualization. The central object was stitched together from other parts I had on the hard drive. The teeth were done in the Forms editor, modified in the Deatil editor, then positioned and saved in relation to the gums. They were then reloaded and Sliced into the gums. The resulting inner portion was Joined and Merged into the gums to created a more realistic look to the area where the teeth and gums meet. The Mountaintop texture was used on each tooth for that icky plaque look. The Pastella and Bumpnoise textures were used on the main object. The Iris texture was used on the eyes, and their axes were reoriented so they could Track to the camera. The gum attributes were Applied to the sockets. One main and one fill light source were used. The original 2000x1600 pixel image was rendered on an Amiga 3000 in about a day and a half.
