Process for Creation of Image:

This image started with a cross section extruded 60 degrees for the circuit board base. The circuit traces were drawn for the image map section by section. The electronic parts were taken from some extras laying around and added according to the circuit board map. Small image maps were created for the electronic parts. After one circuit board was created I duplicated it 5 more times and rotated them to fill in a complete 360 degrees. Then at the bottom of the board I created a six sided object to match the board and added a red lense and some dome shaped objects inside with the hexes texture. To make the data stream I added a tube object with the ghost texture on the inside. I added another tube (slightly bigger) and added the tube windows texture to it in a tacked state and then scaled it larger in the Z axis. I then added another tube ( again slightly larger) with the beam me up texture applied to a tacked state and scaled it like the last one. To all of this a sphere was added to surround everything. There are 6 lights with shadows set surrounding the data stream and one more at the bottom of the stream with no shadows. Another dome shaped object was added to the bottom of the data stream with the electric texture added. This was rendered at 800x600 and took about 6 hours to finish.
