Proposed Condominium Development Ellesmere Brittania Grand Cayman Island in the Carribbean commmissioned by GENESIS Architecture & Engineering, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Final rendered image was 2000 x 1366 TIF file. Image rendered on Amiga A3000 with with 18Mb Ram. Architectural elements were primarily modelled in Autocad; exported as DXF files and converted to Imagine objects using Accutrans 3D by Micromouse Productions. Each layer was set as a separate object. Palm trees and landscaping elements are primarily scanned images from photos and mapped to planes with filter maps and rendered in scene. (Levels of reflection typically 6-7.) Some foreground items are scanned images composited into final image.

Major textures used are Imagine's Color Noise for stucco finishes; The grass is a mesh with ColorNoise added over for a more random appearance. The pool area is a scanned image composited into final rendering - reflection in pool is composited into image and blurred. The balcony railings were created using a filter map repeated to a series of planes. Lighting is one source light (shadow casting) - 600 intensity; and one infill light - 125 intensity.

Skys are scanned images and set as backdrops (3000x2000) in Action Editor. Buildings and other elements in background are setup in Stage Editor in previous frame and rendered separately....the resulting image is then used as a backdrop for the final rendering. This was the first time we used this technique in order to conserve memory and speed up renders. This buiding also went thru a major revision just as the final rendering was completed including the complete removal of a floor.
