Puffinus puffinus

Ave de plumaje oscuro por arriba y claro por abajo, con alas largas y estrechas. Tamaño: 30-38 cm.; peso: 350-575 g. Es más grande y de plumaje más oscuro que el Pampero de Audubon, especie más común que nidifica en el Caribe. Anida en islas en las costas del este de Canadá y Europa. El 90% de la poblaci≤n mundial de esta especie anida en las islas Britßnicas. Como muchas aves marφtimas, esta especie vive por muchos a±os. Un individuo fue anillado en 1957 y todavφa anidaba en 2002 a los 50 a±os. Un visitante invernal raro en los mares de Puerto Rico.
