Golondrina grande de plumaje completamente negro p·rpura en los machos. Las hembras tienen el vientre blanco. Tama±o: 21 cm.; peso: 55 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Anida en gran parte del este y la costa del Pacφfico de AmΘrica del Norte, invernando en AmΘrica del Sur. Una especie rara en los pasos migracionales por Puerto Rico (por ejemplo, avistamientos en Boquer≤n, el 11 de mayo de 1974 y 17 de marzo de 2000), pero muchas veces confundida con la Golondrina de Iglesias, especie nidificante en la Isla.
