Tiránido de plumaje gris con las plumas externas de la cola muy largas. Tamaño: 35 cm.; peso: 39 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Anida en el centro-sur de los Estados Unidos y el noreste de México, invernando en América Central. Accidental en la zona costera de Puerto Rico (diciembre de 1960).
