Activa ave nocturna, con manchas blancas en las alas y la cola. De plumaje mßs grisßceo por abajo que el QuerequequΘ, especie menor, pero usualmente se distingue por su llamado monosilßbico: "piint". Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Tama±o: 22-24 cm.; peso: 65-98 g. Anida en AmΘrica del Norte e inverna en AmΘrica del Sur. Un visitante en las Antillas durante la migraci≤n en la primavera y el oto±o, siendo, sin embargo, difφcil de identificar ya que generalmente no vocaliza en migraci≤n.
