The Whip-poor-will of North America has not been recorded from Puerto Rico, but taxonomists formerly lumped it with the Puerto Rican Nightjar. Length: 22-26 cm.; weight: 43-64 g. However, the Whip-poor-will has a very different three-note song that resembles its name. Audio (M. Oberle).
DISTRIBUTION: Breeds in forests of eastern North America and winters in the southeastern USA south to Panama.

Esta ave no se ha registrado en Puerto Rico pero algunos tax≤nomos en el pasado llegaron a considerar al Guabairo como una forma de esta especie. Tama±o: 22-26 cm.; peso: 43-64 g. Esta ave, sin embargo, tiene un canto muy diferente de tres notas que imita su nombre. Audio (M. Oberle).
DISTRIBUCI╙N: Anida en los bosques del este de AmΘrica del Norte e inverna en el sureste de Estados Unidos, llegando por el sur hasta Panamß.
