The male is iridescent black with a long, narrow bill, long tail, and dark eyes--- much larger than the Greater Antillean Grackle, which has yellow eyes. The female is brown, with darker wings and a yellow eye---much smaller than the male. Length: 26-42 cm.; weight: males 215 g., females 120 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Breeds in coastal southeastern USA. Accidental in Puerto Rico (San Juan, 12 April 2003).
