Dark blue-gray above, and white below, with a white tip to the tail. A small red crown patch is usually hidden. Length: 22 cm.; weight: 38 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Breeds over much of the USA and southern Canada; winters in central South America where it changes its diet from insects to fruit. Accidental in Puerto Rico in coastal open areas (circa 1847; 1960).
