A long-tailed forest bird with an all-black bill and a red eye ring; it lacks the black mask over the eye that is found on the common Mangrove Cuckoo. Length: 28-31 cm.; weight: 45-55 g. Breeds in eastern North America and winters in South America. Rare migrant in coastal and dry forest on Puerto Rico.
