Distribution Documentation MorphBar for Windows February, 1996 This file provides information for shareware disk vendors, usergroups, BBS sysops and commercial publishers of magazines and books on the distribution of MorphBar for Windows. We welcome distribution of MorphBar through shareware disk vendors, user group libraries and bulletin board systems. We ask that you observe these points: a) Any fee you charge must be clearly stated to be a distribution fee and that a separate payment direct to the author is required once the evaluation period is complete (any similar wording is adequate). b) All files in this MorphBar distribution (see README.TXT) are passed on to the purchaser. We are happy for you to embed the text files in a user friendly front end, provided they are clearly identified and can be separately retrieved for the user to pass on. You may add additional text files if that is your policy. c) You may distribute the files in any archive format (e.g. using a compression system), providing you observe the licensing agreements of the disk compression system authors. Commercial Publishers (Magazines and Books) You may include MorphBar for Windows on a companion disk to a book or magazine provided that you observe the following points: a) Your book or magazine describes and supports the shareware retailing principle in the printed editorial (in addition to any disk based documentation). You should point out to readers that a separate payment is required if they continue to use the software beyond the evaluation period. b) Please contact us. We would like to keep track of commercial publications which have distributed MorphBar. c) If you use a user friendly front end on your disk you may incorporate the MorphBar text files and add ones of your own. If space precludes this you must contact us to discuss what text based installation documentation you're going to include. CD-ROMs We welcome the introduction of CD-ROMs as both a medium for shareware publishers to distribute their catalogue and as a means for commercial publishers to enhance the editorial of their magazines. There are two additional point for CD-ROM distribution: a) CD-ROMs containing MorphBar must include all the MorphBar distribution files, though these can be compressed. b) The CD-ROM must include some form of index to the software contained on it, either in a printed companion booklet or on disk. This need not be a formal index but should contain a brief description of the program and it's location. You can contact the author at any of the addresses below.
