Office Conversion Manager

Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) is announcing an offering which provides conversion support to accounts switching 2000 or more desktops to Microsoft Word, Excel or Office. This support offering is targeted toward medium and large organizations converting one or more competitive applications to Microsoft Word, Excel or Office.

For customers who are converting to Microsoft Word, Excel or Office, PSS will designate an "Office Conversion Manager" to assist the customer, over a 90-day period, with the planning, installation and implementation of Microsoft Office products. This service provides the customer with a designated PSS support professional who will work closely with them on the conversion effort.

To take advantage of this offer, qualified customers will need to designate a conversion manager contact within their organization to be the single point of contact with Microsoft. The 90-day clock will begin on a mutually agreed upon date between the Microsoft field account manager, the customer and the PSS sales organization.

This offer applies to any Microsoft customer regardless of their support relationship with PSS. If the customer has a Premier support agreement, the Office Conversion Manager will work closely with the Technical Account Manager (TAM) assigned to the customer to develop a conversion plan.

The Office Conversion Manager will provide telephone based assistance for a 90-day period. The types of activities that the Office Conversion Manager will assist the customer with include:

Planning the conversion effort;
Providing the customer with technical information related to the conversion;
Assisting the customer with the conversion tools which are provided with Microsoft products; and,
Troubleshooting technical problems that may arise during the conversion.

The Office Switch Line is staffed with Support Engineers who are trained in both the Microsoft applications and the competitors applications. These Support Engineers provide technical assistance to customers who are switching to Microsoft Office applications.
