gauss

The function gauss is a gaussian of the form:

f (x) = a2e-($\scriptstyle {\frac{{x-a_0}}{{a_1}}}$)2.

Fitting to this function converges easily if your initial guesses are even close. For gauss and most peak-type functions, your initial guesses will probably converge if your function peaks are a little shorter and wider than you data peaks.
