Founded by former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, Project Vote-Smart is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that tracks the voting records and political actions of elected officials all over the country, collecting statistical information about each official. The database tracks voting records in over twenty key issue areas. The site also provides biographical information on elected officials, performance evaluations from liberal and conservative organizations, information on campaign contributions, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, positions taken in past campaigns, and much more.
