The Ancient Olympics

This site focuses on the history of the ancient Olympics. Each sport is spotlighted along with the ancient athletes who made the Olympic games famous. The site also features articles about controversial aspects of the ancient games that still dog the Olympics today. Two such articles are "The Ancient Athlete: Amateur or Professional?" and "Did Politics Ever Affect the Ancient Games?" There is also a virtual tour of Olympia, site of the ancient games, and links to the Perseus Project, a noted on-line exhibit of artifacts from the ancient world. The site is clean and easy to navigate.
