Immigration History Research Center

While the Center contains records of twenty-four ethnic groups, primarily from eastern, central, and southern Europe and the Near East, only ten were active in mid-1997: Byelorussians, Carpatho-Russians, Czechs, Finns, Greeks, Italians, Poles, Russians, Slovaks, and Ukrainians. The materials available include personal papers as well as publications from the ethnic press, which flourished in America. The site is valuable to the student interested in the daily life as well as the political and economic contributions of these groups. You can also search the IHRC collections on-line and link to various other genealogical sources.
