The Bayeux Tapestry
This Web site consists entirely of images. The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidery that is approximately 20 inches high by 230 feet long. It depicts the events leading up to and including the Battle of Hastings in 1066. This site displays close-up images of the tapestry, which it has divided into thirty-five sections. There are also several sections that show close-up views of the stitching and compare the front and back of the work. This is a very interesting site for students doing in-depth research.
