The Ancient City of Athens

This extremely well-organized site is a photographic archive of the archaeological and architectural remains of ancient Athens. It allows the viewer to take a virtual tour of the chief excavated regions and still-existing monuments. A display of small color photographs is briefly described. Clicking on one of these photographs brings up much more information with a complete description, links to references in the PERSEUS Project, a bibliography, and a series of images. The site also includes links to other sites on classical studies and archaeology resources. Students will find a wealth of material here.
