Letters from an American Farmer

This simple Web site is one of the hypertext projects from the University of Virginia's Electronic Text Center. The site contains only text, with the exception of one portrait. The letters by Pennsylvania farmer Jean Crèvecoeur, a French immigrant, were written in 1782 and published in book form at a time when there was a great deal of curiosity directed toward America. The information found at this site would be of use and interest to advanced U.S. history students.
