AFRO-Americ@: The Afro-American Newspapers Home Page

This cutting-edge homepage is not only visually pleasing but also easy to use and highly informative. The site is divided into four sections: History, Culture, Information, and Kids Zone. The History section has nearly a dozen articles on black history covering topics from the Tuskegee Airmen to black resistance under slavery. The Kids Zone has features such as African American myths and fables and Discover Africa (a section that profiles Africa with maps and interesting facts and statistics on many African countries). Brain teasers and video games also attract kids and adults alike to this site; unfortunately you need the Schockwave plug-in to play many of them. The Information section provides news and commentary from the United States and abroad with an African-American focus. Finally, the Culture section provides dozens of links to African and African-American artists and art galleries, music, and cultural and political organizations, as well as travel profiles of several countries.
