Smithsonian Web Site

When you get to the Smithsonian homepage click on the Resources and Tours button. Here you will find educational resources available at the Smithsonian, on-line resources, perspectives, and prepackaged on-line tours of the Smithsonian. "Encyclopedia Smithsonian" is a FAQ covering a number of topics including biodiversity, mineral sciences, and vertebrate zoology. The on-line resources include access to the Smithsonian catalogs, publications, and research reports. You can also search abstracts of articles that appeared in Smithsonian Magazine. A general search engine permits users to search the web sites of the various Smithsonian museums. The technology of the virtual tours varies from an on-line 3D of the 150th celebration tour to a text-based, image-enhanced tour of the gardens.
