The Empiricist

The Empiricist is an on-line peer-reviewed journal for high school students. The purpose of the site is to bring the empirical scientific method into high school classrooms, and so it does. The journal has three sections. The Features section includes articles that have passed a two-tier, peer-review process. Research papers in all fields of science are eligible for publication. Brainstorm Central is the section for students to gather ideas for topics. The Teacher's Resources section lends support to teachers who want to add science research to their curriculum. This site was still a work in progress in mid-1997 with new features being added regularly, but this is already a very useful site for students with a serious interest in the sciences.
