Rabelais et son temps

This site is dedicated to the sixteenth-century French writer François Rabelais. All his works can be accessed by following the LECTURE instructions. However, the texts are only available as Rabelais wrote them in the French of the period and are, therefore, difficult to read. A section entitled Illustrations relatives aux textes ou à l'époque de Rabelais is more accessible. It includes hundreds of illustrations (some with text) that are of importance in studying Rabelais as well as the Renaissance period.
