Options

The Options dialog makes it easy to change your WinZip® Wizard settings.

Favorite Zip Folders tab

The window lists your Favorite Zip Folders. To add a folder to the list, click Add a folder to list; to remove a folder from the list, click it with the right mouse button and then click Remove folder.

Other Zip Folders tab

This tab allows you to specify what WinZip should do when you open a Zip file from Search results and the folder containing the Zip file isn't one of your Favorite Zip folders.

Default Unzip Folder tab

This tab allows you to specify the default folder for unzipping, that is, the folder that the WinZip Wizard will initially suggest when an unzip operation begins.

Misc tab

The options in this tab allow you to:

• Specify whether WinZip should start with the Wizard or Classic Interface.
• Enable or disable the desktop theme and screen saver installer.
• Enable or disable the WinZip Quick Pick taskbar icon.
• Use a WinZip 7.0-compatible Wizard. The WinZip 7.0 Wizard only unzips and installs; it cannot create new archives or update existing archives. You might want to choose this option if you only use the Wizard for unzipping and installing, never for creating or updating Zip files--it simplifies use of the Wizard slightly because you don't have to choose between unzipping, updating, and creating.
