Synopsis

While in class, Sana discovers that today is Hayama's birthday. (today being October 21st that is). Of course, Sana is overjoyed and asks Hayama why he isn't more excited. Sana forgot though that Hayama's birthday was also the same day his mother died and after being reminded by Hayama, she is stunned wiht herself that she forgot. After putting her foot in her mouth, Sana does so again when she asks what he does for his birthday, after Hayama's answer is visit his mother's grave.

Akito, Natsumi, Hayama, Sana and Tsuyoshi all meet and the grave yard and Mr. Hayama invites Sana and Tsuyoshi to visit the grave. As they walk towards the grave, a woman who none of the children know departs from the grave. While praying Sana introduces herself to Hayama's mother and talks to her about the relationship between her and Akito.

Later on that same day, the trio are walking home from school, and the group of them spot Mr. Hayama with that woman from the gravesite. Hayama, not interested returns home, while Sana abducts Tsuyoshi and is off to investigate. The two track them down to a restaurant where they spot them drinking tea, while the two of the are talking the woman starts crying with Mr. Hayama with a napkin to help her. Of course Sana see this, goes nuts, takes off to the Hayama household. Sana failed to realize that the woman had just lost her contact lens.

Sana, tells this news to Natsumi who doesn't believe what she is hearing. They begin to go through some photo albums where they find a photo of that woman along side their mother. Now Natsumi begins to panic thinking that her father is getting together with this woman.

Eventually, Mr. Hayama and the woman return to the house only to be bombarded by accusations and questions. The facts eventually get sorted out, and as the episode finishes, that woman, Hayama's mother's best friend from school tells Hayama about the woman who he has never met.

This was the first birthday Hayama had enjoyed.
