This directory on the Bonus disc has over 200 alternate takes, out-takes, and, well, even we aren't sure what else, that were not used for the crew voices and taunts in SFC II. By clicking on the link you can browse through them and see what you like.
Next, you can see by looking at sounds.txt that every "event" that supports sound is associated with a WAV file that's contained in SFCVoice.zip. The file must be in that zip file, and the zip file must be saved in uncompressed zip format. You can add your desired WAV file to the zip archive, then edit sounds.txt to associate the event with the name of the sound you've chosen. If anything goes wrong, copy your original SFCVoice.zip and sounds.txt back over the modified ones. Here are the Mirak and ISC Homeworld, Frontier, and Colony pictures that you see at the start of a campaign. They're presented in several sizes as BMP files so that you can use them as desktop wallpaper.
Go to the Windows desktop and right click on that. Select "Properties"and Browse to the place where you've saved the SFC II BMP file. Select it there and click "OK" to set it as your backdrop. Note that Windows versions vary, so you may need to select the walpaper differently depending on your version of Windows.
Hailing Frequencies is an excellent online resource for Starfleet Command players. Every month it features articles, interviews, previews, tactical advice, fan fiction and loads of other information that will keep your photons on target (well, often enough) and your plasma pulsating. You can see the current issue here. On
this disc we've archived the first five issues of Hailing Frequencies
in PDF format. In order to rea them you will need to have the Adobe
Acrobat Reader plug-in installed for your browser; odds are you have
it already, but in case you need to download it, get
it here. It may be necessary for you to close your browser during
the installation.
In the course of making ship models and other art for the game our arists have had to create sketches and final renderings of their work for purposes of review. We're including many of these images on this Bonus Disc. You'll get a chance to see the progression of these designs from paper to polygons. When you click below, you'll find yourself on a page that contains all of the concept art. One of the advantages to getting this disc is that you don't need to wait for the images to download - no thumbnails!

There are stills from the original series and from the first few motion pictures. These images are all presented at a resoultion of 640 by 480 pixels - not as large as our desktop wallpapers, but still big enough to use on your desktop if you like. BMP versions of these images are stored on this disc in the folder named "Star Trek movie slides".
