Remember the old game Hangman? This game is like that, but instead of adding parts until the stick figure is "hung," parts are lost until the stick figure is all gone. BangMan is best learned by playing, but here are a few instructions to get play started. Object of the game: Find all the bombs AND Detonate them. At the beginning of the game, each of the 225 spaces is an unknown. Any one of them may be a bomb - or not. To begin a game, player must press the left mouse button. An area opens up, and there are several spaces filled in. The spaces that are colored in solid have different numbers of bombs touching them, depending on the color. The spaces around BangMan's head are a key to show how many bombs touch each color. Walking: Anytime a player moves the mouse with no button pushed, the player is "walking." The spaces walked upon will either explode or reveal their color. Most spaces have eight other spaces touching them. If the only unmarked spaces are bombs, they will be marked with flags when the player walks on the subject space. If a bomb has been marked with a flag, that does not disarm the bomb. Detector: Hold down the left mouse button. Now the player is not walking, but holding a detector over the space. The space will reveal whether it is a bomb or not. While the detector is on, no bombs will explode. Detector time is limited by battery life. If the space is marked with a flag, then the detector will detonate it in a controlled manner. The player can then walk on the space safely. Detonating charges detector battery. Use of the detector costs no extra heart beats. BangMan's heart beats the same speed. The only cost is the amount of battery used. Pressing the right button starts a brand new game. Scores on BangMan will be based on skill, and not on luck or guessing. Each exploded bomb speeds up the heart. The amount it speeds up depends on the level of play and on when the bomb explodes. The later in the game, the more. Each exploded bomb makes your walking less steady. If a player walks about randomly, BangMan loses his head. The game is lost. If a player detonates six bombs, BangMan loses his head. The game is lost. The game is "durable." A player's skill will continue to improve even after many hours of practice. No bomb will ever explode without either a false step or a logical error. Reasonable guesses are allowed, but never required. Sound: There are two levels of sound, or complete silence. Click on the speaker to change sound level. Quick exit: Clicking BangMan's head will return player to Windows or DOS. If Bangman's heart has beat less times than it did for the current record holder, you will be asked to type your name. Afterwards, your record will appear anytime that level of the game is played. To cancel a record, click on the Trade Mark next to the word "HomeSpun." Then right click to confirm. The record for the current level of play will be cancelled. There are four levels of play. Easy - Green level Medium - Yellow level Hard - Red level Severe - Purple level Playing all levels will improve your skill. Play logic runs faster at lower levels, but more complex at higher levels. Advice if you're close to a record: Do not answer phone. Do not sneeze. Happy Playing !!
