Intercultural learning does not simply consist of an isolated exchange experience, but is a lifelong process.

Although AFS Intercultural Programs has been exchanging high school students for a total of 49 years, AFS volunteer ambulance drivers were crossing cultural boundaries
as early as 1914. Needless to say, we at AFS know the significant benefits that international exchange can bring to cross-cultural relations.

AFS continues to be steadfastly committed to its original core values, working toward peace and understanding in a diverse world while also acknowledging that peace is a dynamic concept vulnerable to injustice, inequity and intolerance.

Because AFS is devoted to the advancement of professional and academic studies that aim to increase both world understanding and cross-cultural exchanges, we have created the AFS Global Classroom.
