The Wildlife Trusts are a must if you want to know about wildlife and conservation in your area. Under the umbrella of the Royal Society for Nature Conservation, the 47 Wildlife Trusts (and 50 Urban Wildlife Groups and Wildlife WATCH for youngsters) are present in England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland comprising regular staff and volunteers managing some 2000 nature reserves and conserving our wildlife. It's a great way to really get involved and get your hands dirty or (if you are less adventurous) to receive information on walks, lectures and local wildlife reserves.
