Aboriginal Desert Discovery Tours a wholly owned Aboriginal enterprise of the Pwerte Marnte Marnte Aboriginal Corporation & Austours, have entered into a joint venture arrangement to conduct tours into tribal homelands of the Simpson Desert. An aboriginal driver / guide and an Austours Tour Manager will conduct the first four days of this special culture experience tour.


DAY ONE        ALICE SPRINGS TO OLD ANDADO HOMESTEAD. (LD) C/T
Depart Alice Springs and travel along the Santa Theresa outback track, detouring to visit the Mac Clark Nature Reserve, noted for it's Acacia Peuce, found only in the Simpson Desert. Your overnight stop is at the historic Old Andado Homestead, in basic cabin accommodation, nestled amongst the sand dunes of the Simpson Desert, and home to Molly Clark, a true outback legend and character

DAY TWO        ANDADO HOMESTEAD TO DALHOUSIE SPRINGS (BLD) T/T
Leaving Andado, we travel south through the floodplains of the Finke River. We will see Mt Dare Station and journey onto Dalhousie Springs. Swim in the hot thermal springs and learn the mythology of the Arrernte from your Aboriginal guide.
Visit sites not on any intinery!
Tonight enjoy an outback bush camp in the Dalhousie area - tent accommodation for all passengers. Didgeridoo lessons, damper & billy tea as you sit around the campfire. A remarkable outback experience.

DAY THREE        DALHOUSIE SPRINGS TO ERLDUNDA (BL) M/T
From Dalhousie, we will return a slightly different route, seeing the the Old Federal Ruins and Blood Creek Station. Crossing the Old Telegraph Line, we will visit the once important Abminga rail siding (now in ruins) on the old Ghan Railway. Then it's through Charlotte Waters to New Crown Station and the township of Finke, a once important Old Ghan Railway town. Journey to the Lambert Marker, the geographic centre of Australia before joining the Stuart Highway at Kulgera to travel north to Erldunda, your stopover for tonight.

DAY FOUR        TO RAINBOW VALLEY HOMELANDS (BL) C/T
Our first visit today will be Henbry Meteorite Craters, then we will journey into the homelands of the Rainbow Valley. Meet the community Aboriginals and enjoy a picnic lunch in this picturesque area. Enjoy the traditional stories - these will be told as we experience the ancient land.
