Aboriginal Culture and EnterpriseRibnga Green
Ribnga Green comes from Halls Creek in Western Australia and is a member of the nation of Jaru peoples whose traditional land is in the southeast part of the Kimberley region. He is in the process of completing a Masters degree in law at the Flinders University of South Australia where he also does some teaching in the Law School. His thesis covers the laws and customs of Indigenous Australians in the context of the native title debate. He also works part time with the Adelaide law firm Knox & Hargrave in the Indigenous Business Unit.

Ribnga has a long history of involvement in Aboriginal community work. He was an executive member of the Kimberley Land Council and was active in the move by traditional owners to return to and reclaim some of their traditional lands. He has also worked as an advisor to a Minister in federal parliament in the early nineties. His special interest now is to use his legal skills to continue to advance the interests of Indigenous peoples. He returns to Halls Creek often to maintain his connections with his people and to contribute to community issues as requested from time to time.

Within Aboriginal Australia he takes a special interest and concern in ensuring that cultural protocols are observed and respected; in particular, the issue of adequate protection for Indigenous intellectual property rights. As part of his concerns for ensuring Indigenous voices are heard, Ribnga is also involved in providing a forum for Aboriginal stories, which will become a part of the web site in the near future..
