MANOR FUNCTIONS
We turn the page of history to the previous century when the Karolineburg Manor played host to saw mill and factory owners. Many joyous moments have been spent in the ManorÆs halls, punch sipped, important matters discussed and the delicious dinners of the hostess enjoyed. Occasionally there were musical evenings, too. We now cordially invite you to be our guests to experience and share the atmosphere of those bygone times and to try some unforgettable culinary experiences in our atmosphere-rich halls. If you wish we may also arrange small musical performances.

SUMMERTIME PARK FESTIVITY AND PROMENADE

We take a stroll along the bank of the river by the ─mmΣkoski and Koivukoski waterfall. Here, many years ago merchants used to transport pitch with rowing boats to the Paltamo and Oulu pitch townsmen to be shipped off again to be traded in Stockholm. If you wish you can see an example of the pitch rowing and the descent down the waterway in an old pitch boat. From the rapids and the channels we move on to the Karolineburg gardens where a delicious feast awaits us. A small park concert will be held during the dining.

Hotel: The manor is over 150 years old and renovated for use as a hotel in 1990. It has 17 hotel rooms/apartments, 7 of which are suites. The rooms are decorated in the manor style with manor furniture, ten of the rooms even have a sauna.

Restaurants: The main building has four dining rooms, each with its own entrance. These together seat approximately eighty persons. The building provides facilities for the most demanding of small-scale meetings. Orders and airport transfers can be arranged.

Other services: The grounds of the Karolineburg has been given a protection order by The Finnish National Board of Antiquities and Historical Monuments. An elegant park surrounds the Manor which may well be used for a 300-person garden party. The Manor is situated near the river bank, close to the castle ruins and the pitch channel.
