The wilderness is calling you...The White Reindeer is a cosy and tidy accommodation and activity programme company in Lemmenjoki. It is located by Lake MenesjΣrvi, 35 kilometres from Inari towards KittilΣ, only one kilometre from the Lemmenjoki National Park. We are specialised in arranging tours and other services in the Lemmenjoki National Park. The White Reindeer leads you to the mighty nature and untouched wilderness of the area, and acquaints you with local culture, for example reindeer husbandry, gold digging and the indigenous Sami people.
In summertime guided tours are made to wash gold in the White Reindeer's own gold washing claim in Lemmenjoki Morgamoja, and there is always a lucky person who finds some genuine Lemmenjoki gold.
Accommodation
- Six log cabins for four persons, fit for winter habitation, with refridgerator, use of kitchen and electricity.
- Three sauna cottages for six persons, fit for winter habitation, with refridgerator, use of kitchen/kitchenware, fireplace and electricity, 42 beds in all.
- Toilets, showers and sauna are in the maintenance building, groups have use of kitchen and dining recess.
- Area for tents and caravans, kitchen and electric connections in the area.
- A big log cabin for social evening gatherings in the area.
Activity programmes
- Boat trip to Ravadas Falls in the middle of the Lemmenjoki National Park
- Gold washing trip to Morgamoja, acquaints you with the everyday life of gold diggers
- Hiking tour to Sallivaara where you can see the most notable past times reindeer round-up area. Possibility to dine outdoors.
- Skiing tours to the Lemmenjoki National Park and other areas in Northern Lapland
- Snowmobile safaris in the wilderness of Hammastunturi, far away from civilization
- Special, reasonably-priced programmes to school and youth groups
