Situated in the suburbs is the village of AsemakylΣ spread out over both sides of the Savo railway and main road no.72. Connections to the town centre are quick and flexible.

Lake Kyyvesi is a recreational fishermanÆs paradise with the main catch being pike-perch. There are a number of cruise baots and canoe routes crossing the lake. In the winter you can drive a snowmobile over the ice as well as hunt.

The countryside is lush and full of forest. You can hike alone, in pairs or on the back of an Icelandic horse. The mileau of the village is culturally rich with: museum, church, travel companies. On the eastern side of the village in Saksanharju a magnificent view opens up before you over Lake Kyyvesi. The Martin Gallery stands on a ridge as a unique monument of woodwork.

The Posaskoski Mill offers history and the present day with services. The summer theatre "HenkireikΣ" provides spiritual enjoyment and culinary enjoyment may be obtained from the Bosnian restaurant.
