Golf is a very popular sport in Japan especially among salarymen. Since the space for golf courses is limited, the costs for memberships are very high. However, there are public driving ranges for all the golf lovers that cannot afford a membership throughout the country. These driving ranges are big constructions that are wrapped in huge green nets. One can see these constructions everywhere, even in the middle of a city. Often the balls can be played from two floors in order to allow a greater number of players to practice at the same time.
