Nagasaki is located on the island of Kyushu. Nagasaki has a long, interesting, and important history partially due to its geographical location: it is one of the closest cities to the Asian mainland and was, therefore, an important city in oversea trade.
Nagasaki's more recent history, however, is sad and terrible because the city was target of an atomic bomb in the end of World War II.
