Nuts.

Some computer problems fouled up my Inbox for Monday and Tuesday -- basically the system was running reeeaaal slow, making it almost impossible to search the database. When I went out to get some food, a dark van that had been parked across the street suddenly screeched off, and when I came back the problem seemed to have fixed itself. Weird.

Anyway, just a small update for Tuesday night. Again, life has been hectic. I'm still torn between buying a new sofa bed or futon, but the email responses are helping me to make a decision (so far the sofa bed side is winning out, although the cool-looking aztec pattern for the futon cover is damn nifty...)

I'm trying to get some free time to do a new script review up on DC. Which one it'll be...well, I'm keeping it a surprise right now, since I'm trying to read all of 'em. After the move to the new apartment and the wedding, I think it's time to *try* and save up for a laptop. Then I can start giving up even more sleep, since I'll be sleeping on that new sofa/futon because the new wife won't appreciate me playing Quake in my jammies. She's a giving person, but there's a line in the sand a man can cross...and then, well, you're dead.

Alright, enough personal chit-chat. Here's two items I can share with you that don't quite have their own homes on CA...

• Mike Horaney's I Wish It Was Cool News! website just turned one year old, and Mike threw a celebrity party. After realizing the bastard invited the entire cast of party of five but forgot about the other movie website dudes, I decided a violent crashing was in order. Happily, I avoided all photographs of me at the party, but you can check out the celebs that did attend at his site. And a special note to fans wondering who to cast in a live-action Tomb Raider: check out the photo of Mimi Rogers in that Catwoman-like silver dress. Yowza.

• To be filed under the "Weirder Movies Have Been Greenlighted" file: I got scooped that a follow-up to the 70s horror film (in more ways than one) The Car may be in development. Here's what the scooper told me:
  ' Believe it or not... The Car 2 is in development. As of right now, the script is to be penned by Robert A. Masciantonio (also possibly to direct). Universal is interested in bringing back the '71 Lincoln Town Car. James Brolin has also shown interest, but only if the script was right. As mentioned, the script is being written by Masciantonio, who has just finished his debut Cold Hearts. I don't know a full story... but I know it's 25 years later and The Car is back... possibly with morphing powers.'

  Sure the fellow signed the email 'AyeWhole', which is usually a tip-off to me that it's probably BS...but the thing is...this could happen. One day, one way. And Brolin? C'mon. Like he's got somethin' to do while Pensacola is on summer hiatus (and don't give me that "Yeah, it's called 'Babs'" lip...)

And that's it for the moment. I know a bunch of you are waiting to see your info up on the site, but all I can say is to hang in there. I've delayed posting last week's news about Resident Evil and a possible fourth Dead movie to be directed by Romero, along with Leo's new film The Beach and some great photos taken from the Patch Adams set so I could get today's latest headlines up and online. I'll be updating some more later on in the week, so don't fear, the info (and credits) will get posted. But I gotta couch hunt too...
