[Page draft submitted by 'Deadpool'.]

November 24, 1998... With an additional 26 new episodes of Rugrats are now in production for an eighth TV season beginning the fall of 1999 (which may start earlier for viewers in Australia and/or Canada), the recording of the upcoming episodes voicetracks began in the first week of June 1998. Of course, the new season will feature Dil.

But being pencilled in for Summer 2000 is another Rugrats movie. According to a story that ran earlier in the year on Reuters News Service and Variety, a sequel is already in the works. Screenwriters J. David Stem and David N. Weiss are already hard at work earning hundreds of thousands of dollars to pen the upcoming sequel.

According to Nick (via Derek Smith), the second film takes place outside the US, but they didn't specifically state where the babies would adventure. Countries up for consideration include France, England, Russia and China. Also, Chuckie may play a greater role in the second film.

There are also rumors that Angelica will have a baby sister named Stephanie, either in the eighth season or in the second film. Since it's still early in the development of the project we're treating this one as most likely a false rumor.

With all the success and popularity both the TV and feature Rugrats project have had, the business of selling animated babies is starting to become very serious. Rugrats's very loyal fan base have much to look forward to when the new millenium begins. As Chuckie said in the episode of The Mysterious Mr. Friend, "I guess they're going to be with us for a very, very long time."
