June 14, 1998... Production is expected to start this fall. [Originally appeared in IAM Magazine; reported by 'Widgett'.]

July 26, 1998... Apparently, everyone's stepping away from the table. Brian De Palma, originally attached to direct, has left due to "creative differences." A couple of million dollars has already been spent on the project, but MGM is backing away from it nonetheless. [Originally appeared in Cinescape; reported by 'Widgett'.]

September 7, 1998... Speaking at the Montreal Film Festival last Tuesday, director Brian De Palma confirmed his next project will be Nazi Gold. De Palma told the audience that the script was presently being rewritten to meet budgetary concerns. As well, De Palma has been scouting locations in Mopntreal with his Art Director for the bank scenes. Shooting might begin as soon as March '99. [Thanks to CA's Montreal main guy, 'Deadpool', for covering this event.]

November 10, 1998... "This is old information but in early '98 Richard Dreyfuss was heavily attached to this project in the lead role. While Dreyfuss may be a little old to do a De Palma movie (sorry Dick) he certainly sounds right for the part." [Scooped by anonymous.]
