Comments: It figures that Tarantino would help write this, seeing as how Modesty Blaise is the book Mr. Vega is reading on the throne in Pulp Fiction.  Also, there was a version back in 1966 with Monica Vitti in the title role and Terence Stamp as Willie Garvin.

September 8, 1997... Andy Mangels' Hollywood Heroes column states that this is an upcoming Miramax project, slated to become a franchise. Neil Gaiman was mentioned as tapped to write the anticipated sequel. [Scoop submitted by 'Widgett'.]

Another scooper tells us that Marcelo Anciano and Michael Berrow are the co-producers for this flick, and the executive producer is Cary Woods. Quentin Tarantino wants to be involved and would like to do his favorite Blaise novel, Taste For Death. Neil Gaiman (scribe of Vertigo/DC's The Sandman) is interested in developing I, Lucifer for the screen. At one point Tarantino wanted Uma Thurman for Modesty but changed his mind.
