September 19, 1998... Ain't It Cool News has reported some interesting tidbits on this particular project. First, they've had mention of other screenwriters besides Mr. Brown (the latest scribe), though no names were available. Second, someone there mentioned Peter Jackson as a director and Nicholas Cage as the main man. Unfortunately, the Cage rumor is quite plausible as Nick seems to want to get attached in some form or fashion to every comic book film out there. But Peter Jackson? Regardless, there is more kindling to be had. Thirdly, AICN also heard from someone who said they spoke with Andrew Bryniarski (Zangief of Street Fighter fame). Andrew stated that Tim Burton wanted to tap him to fill Lobo's boots.
What's happening at this point is anyone's guess, though we wouldn't mind some scoopers helping us with the question, "Will the real Lobo project please stand up?" [Originally appeared in Ain't It Cool News, Comics2Film; reported by 'Widgett'.]
