March 26, 1998... David Hyde Pierce is in final negotiations to join Bette Midler, Nathan Lane and John Cleese in the cast of Universal Pictures' Isn't She Great. Hyde Pierce is expected to play the buttoned-up editor of Valley of the Dolls author Jacqueline Susann in a film about the late writer and her relationship with her husband Irving Mansfield. The picture, which begins shooting in Montreal in May, has Andrew Bergman directing and producing with partner Mike Lobell. The film is based on Michael Korda's story in The New Yorker about his experiences in editing Susann's second book. Paul Rudnick adapted Korda's work for the big screen.
