September 1, 1998... So what's the hold-up in announcing the follow-up? Last April Dark Horizons referenced a report on BBC Radio that a sequel is definitely in the works. That was followed by a report in Zentertainment which referenced the London Daily Mirror, who stated that if a sequel goes ahead, it will be without Robert Carlyle, who turned down a $1.7 million offer to reprise his role.
Still, the other actors may press on without him. Of the original ensemble, only Mark Addy has committed to a big project -- he'll be starring as a younger Fred Flintstone in The Flintstones prequel (presently in development.) [Scoops reported by 'Widgett', who doesn't show his Monty in public]
