 1. Introduction
 ---------------

 ABC 95  is a control panel applet that you use to manage fonts in 
 Windows 95. It's a more comfortable replacement for the built in 
 "Fonts" Shortcut, found in Windows 95 Control Panel. 
 The Windows 95 built in "Fonts" Shortcut will not be removed and 
 can still be used if desired.   

 ABC 95 is used to

 o  View installed fonts.
 o  Add new fonts to your system.
 o  Remove installed fonts.


 2. Ordering information
 -----------------------

 A single user license of ABC 95 is USD 12.00 or SFr (Swiss Francs) 15.00. 
 Site licenses are available on request.

 To have the registration fee added to your CompuServe bill, 
 use the CompuServe command GO SWREG and follow the menus.  
 ABC 95's registration ID is 10189.

 Send the order form (found in file: ORDER.TXT) and a check to:

 To print the order form, open the file with notepad (double clicking 
 the file in the Explorer opens the file as well) and choose Print 
 from the File menu.
 Payment must be in US dollars or Swiss Francs drawn on a US or Swiss bank, 
 or you can send  international postal money orders in US dollars or
 Swiss Francs.


 3. Requirements
 ---------------

 ABC 95 requires Windows 95. 

 It will not run under Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or 
 any version of  Windows NT. The attempt to start ABC 95 in any 
 operating system other than Windows 95 will result in immediate 
 program termination during initialization of ABC 95.


 4. Installation
 ---------------

 --> Installation from ZIP file

 To install from ABC95.ZIP follow these steps:

 1. Unpack all files from the ZIP file into a temporary directory.
 2. Locate the SETUP.EXE file in the Explorer.
 3. Double click on the SETUP.EXE icon to start the installation.

 The Setup program will prompt you for the required information.


 --> Installation from Floppy

 To install ABC 95 from a floppy disk follow these steps:

 1. Insert the installation disk into the desired drive.
 2. Locate the SETUP.EXE file in the Explorer.
 3. Double click on the SETUP.EXE icon to start the installation.

 The Setup program will prompt you for the required information.


 5. Control Panel Icon
 ---------------------

 ABC 95's setup program will automatically add an icon to the Control Panel.
 
 ABC 95 can also be started by simply launching the ABC95APP.EXE in the
 install directory.

 To remove the icon from Control Panel simply remove the line

 ABC95=x:\yyyyyy\ABC95.CPL 

 and decrease the value

 NumApps=x

 by 1. 

 Both lines are to be found in CONTROL.INI section [MMCPL]. 


 6. List of files

 7. Uninstall ABC 95
 -------------------
 
 To uninstall ABC 95 follow these steps:

 1. Open Control Panel.
 2. Double click the "Add/Remove Programs" Icon.
 3. From the list of programs that can automatically be removed, select
    "ABC 95 Font Manager".
 4. Click the "Add/Remove..." button and follow the instructions.


 8. Known problems
 -----------------

 Sorry, but there's no perfect Software (believe me).

 - Some fonts may not be removable from ABC 95. This is due to the 
   fact, that they are improperly installed by the setup program of 
   certain applications.
   To remove such a font, use the Windows 95 "Fonts" Shortcut in 
   Control Panel which can remove every font.

 - ABC 95 is not (yet) able to restore a removed font from the 
   Recycle Bin.
   To restore a font from the Recycle Bin, follow these steps:

   1. Open the Recycle Bin.
   2. Select the font to be restored.
   3. From the "File" menu select "Restore".
   4. Double click the "Font" Shortcut in Control Panel. 

   The font will automatically be reinstalled by Windows 95.
