SALADS JOIN MCD'S LINE; NO SPECIFIC AD PLAN SEEN

CHICAGO - McDonald's has added salads to its Deluxe line of adult-targeted products.

The Grilled Chicken Salad Deluxe bowed last week in McDonald's stores, featuring a mixture of radicchio, romaine and iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots and a new line of dressings. The salad supplants the existing Chef's Salad on McDonald's menus.

Unlike the Arch Deluxe burger, which rolled last May with $200 million worth or marketing fanfare, the new salad line is not slated for specific ad support.
