People with good work ethics will do their job...accurately, AND efficiently...REGARDLESS of the pay. An intelligent person is aware that he agreed to the terms of the workplace the day he signed all his papers. Again, I don't know what McDonalds' franchises' overheads are, and how much they can actually afford to pay the crew and still function.

Getting back to the topic, I knew a guy at work who WAS the supervisor of the Archives department. Exact salaries are not openly discussed at my employer, but I know he was making more than me. Word was he farted around a lot, took 3-hour lunches frequently, and was prone to call in on Fridays and Mondays (I knew he liked to party a lot!). Long before he was promoted to that position, I saw his work ethic first-hand, when I was new, and he was training me on printing and distributing the "Miser" banking reports. He was just a "temp" when I was first hired. He came and went like he owned the place. At least 3 times he excused himself for the whole evening...thank God I never had a major question on those nights! It came back to haunt him. He got shit-canned, not just asked to resign, but FIRED!!! To sum it all up, a lazy person who doesn't pull his weight does not change as his paycheck gets bigger, although he may manage to wing or outright bullshit or brownnose his way into several promotions.

Hopefully someday the franchise owners will be able to negotiate lower royalty fees, and get Corporate's help in arranging the best mortgage rates or reasonable rent. Perhaps that will free up more revenues that will go toward better wages.
