I would have to agree with the fact that McDonalds Sucks.
I worked there for a miserable three years before I quit, and only after I found another job to fall back on.

While your experience involved too many hours, mine was the opposite,
ie. too few hours. I worked on average, 3.5 to 4.5 hours a week, and THEN while working on my only shift of the week, the manager would pull me aside 20 minutes into my shift and say "Gee,Matt..we've overscheduled..would you like to go home early?" It was costing me more to drive out with gas than what I was getting in pay. So I would say NO thanks...to which I would get the reply: "WELL...If you DON'T go home early as we ask..we'll cut your hours for next week. Being 16 at the time, I didn't know my rights as an employee. McDonalds takes advantage of young and old people. It really makes me sick.
I'd even get sent home after coming in when they asked me to work an extra shift. I am a hard worker and my performance was nothing short of exemplary. Our store ahd an employee roster of 122 employees, and NO ONE was getting many hours becuase management kept hiring and hiring.
Shortly after I left, I heard that our store had a health and safeety audit performed on it and had to close down for a day. What a great place to work!!! I am presently MUCH happier in my new job as a grocery clerk. To all you disgruntled McEmployees..there is hope...when you're not working, go a round with resume's and find a better job so tha you can quit. It makes life so much easier. there ARE better plces to work. I could go on for HOURS about the things that went on in my store. Feel free, fellow former McSufferers to email me and we can trade McStories. Gotta Bail, Matt-o.
