What about the fact that Hungry Jacks (Burger King) is one of our main advertisers? The fact that we would publish an article about their competitors might seem a bit suss don't you think. This was not my motive. In my article my personal opinions appear no where except in the motivation to right the piece in the first place. The bulk of the article was concerning the nutritional content of McDonalds food. The fact that they said that a typical meal contained vital minerals and vitimins. That's fine, but I also happened to point out how much fat anf salt it contained. This wasn't exaclty hard to find out as there was a table on the back of the McDonalds pamphlet. I guess they just don't expect that someone would have the sence to pull out a calculater and work out that a "typical meal" contains about 65 grams of fat when it is considered healthy to eat less than 30 grms PER DAY. I just happened to point this out. I didn't say that McDonalds food didn't contain minerals, just that this is what it also contained.

The rest of the article was dovoted to the McLibel case, how it came about, what was going on, what the judge said in favour and against both parties. Don't forget that there was a complete media blackout about the case in Australia, hardly anyone here has even heard of it. With the limited amount of space I have I had to first tell my readers what McLibel was. I hardly had the opportunity to present my personal opinions. The fact remains that the only source I have is the Internet and that's not very credible. Look at the kind of crap that gets on the World Wide Web. How do I know that what was put on this site is true and reliable. Better still, how does a court know that?

I wasn't making any radical poltical statements. I just thought it unfair and arrogant of the media as well as McDonalds Australia to ignore and diliberatly keep information from the public. All I wanted to do was make people aware. After all, isn't that my job? If I wanted to say "fuck McDoanlds" then I would have sent the article to my university paper who would probably publish it, going on the articles so far this year.

I didn't post my message so people can tell me what a bad journalist i am. you don't know me and you don't know my work. I just wanted someone to tell me where I could find a credible source that I can quote from. Because apart from that there is nothing wrong with the article. If you can help me then don't abuse me.
