The above vignette is heard worldwide by people from McDonald's loyalists. But why is there even a need for a McDonald's in Belgium?
Maybe the brussels sprouts have bored everybody senseless over there
to the point that sugar cravings are endemic to certain sectors of the population.
Hopefully, Mr. Janssens let the couple get together due to something or another in the Belgian labor code. If not an act of goodwill is cool but not the norm in a top-down heirarchical corporate structure like McDonald's or any other multinational. By the way, are there any grievance procedures for McDonald's employees in Belgium? Are they allowed to organize? Would they be fired or threatened for even talking union? Is there much democracy in your workplace? Please tell me.
